What is the typical lead time for a custom plastic injection mold?

Depending on the complexity of your part and the mold design, our standard tooling lead time ranges from 20 to 30 days. Once the mold is finished, we immediately shoot and ship T1 samples for your approval. Mass production typically takes another 7 to 15 days.

Do I own the mold after I pay for it?

Absolutely 100%. Once the tooling invoice is fully paid, the mold belongs entirely to you. Rally Plastic simply stores, maintains, and insures it at our facility for free to produce your parts. You have the right to transfer the mold to another facility at any time.

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

For standard plastic injection molding projects, our MOQ is 5,000 sets per order, ensuring you receive the most cost-effective unit pricing for mass production.

For projects involving silicone molding, we can support small-batch production. If you have special requirements during the new product pilot testing phase, please contact our engineering team to discuss flexible sample solutions.

How do you protect my Intellectual Property (IP) and design files?

Rally Plastic takes your IP seriously. We gladly sign strict Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) before you even upload your CAD files. Your data is stored on secure servers and is only accessible to the core engineering team assigned to your project.

What happens if my design needs modifications for manufacturing?

Rally Plastic provides a free Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis with every quote. If we spot issues like inadequate draft angles, wall thickness variations, or sink mark risks, our engineers will provide actionable feedback and work directly with you to optimize the CAD before we cut any steel.

Can you match specific Pantone colors and handle custom resins?

Yes. While we stock hundreds of standard commodity and engineering resins, we also process custom blends, glass-fiber reinforced plastics from GF10% to GF50%, and precise Pantone or RAL color matching to meet your specific branding or structural requirements.

How do you ensure the quality of the parts? What if there are defects?

Rally Plastic is an ISO 9001-certified facility. Every project goes through rigorous First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final visual or CMM inspections.

If any shipped parts fall outside the agreed-upon tolerances, we will replace or rework them entirely at our own expense.
